Kingwood, TX is a bedroom community located approximately 23 miles north of downtown Houston that is made up of 25 neighborhoods or ‘villages’. Originally created by the Friendswood Development Company in 1971, Kingwood, TX has grown to a population of  around 70,000 residents in 25,000 homes, but you wouldn’t guess that with the small town feel that Kingwood has.

Kingwood, TX has a strong sense of community, and holds great community events monthly. Food truck festivals, farmers markets, craft shows, live music, outdoor movies, and the famous fourth of July celebrations – this town really knows how to have a good time!

One of Kingwood’s claim to fame is the much loved greenbelt trails that connect the entire community.  Over 75 miles of paved greenbelts preserve area wildlife while providing safe access to schools, parks and shopping without having to cross busy roads. No matter where you go in Kingwood, TX, you aren’t far from a beautiful canopy of trees. The Greenbelts are covered in mature tress giving a shady area to run/walk/bike, and the tree-lined streets give the area a feeling of peace and seclusion. One of the area’s most loved tree-lined streets is West Lake Houston Parkway.

Kingwood, TX has one of the best commutes in the surrounding communities of Houston. While it could take you around 15-20 minutes to the highway from one of the neighborhoods in the ‘back’ of kingwood (furthest east), once you hit 59 you are looking at a 25 minute drive to downtown Houston. While that time does increase during rush-hour traffic, you will be hard-pressed to find a better route into town!

Whether you travel often for work, or need a vacation – Bush Intercontinental Airport it just minutes away from Kingwood, TX! While you may be anticipating needing earplugs from living close to a major airport – relax! Kingwood, TX is located outside of the flight pattern for take-off/landing, so noise pollution isn’t an issue!
