Located in Montgomery County, the 7th fastest growing county in the nation, Magnolia is a great place to raise a family and develop a business. The 2010 census indicates that the town has a population of 1,393 people. The median income for a household in the city was $43,594 and the median income for a family was reported at $61,250 according to the 2015 American Community Survey. The top rated areas in the city include North Grove, Grand Lake Estates, Wood Trace, Glen Oaks, and the Reserve at Spring Lakes.

The racial makeup of Magnolia was 81.3% white, 10.3% African American, 0.5% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 5.7% from other races according to the 2010 United States census. There were 529 households with 365 families residing within the city limits.

Of the 529 households, 19.9% had children that were under the age of 18, 44.9% were married couples living together, and 31% were non-families. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.16.

The population makeup of the city was relatively spread-out. 29.7% of residents under the age of 19, 5.9% from 20 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37.8 years.
