Median income for a household in the town was reported as $48,125, and the median income for a family was reported as $63,750 according to a 2015 study by the American Community Survey. Some of the most desirable communities in the area include Walden, April Sound, Creekside Park, Alden Bridge, and Sterling Ridge.

According to the 2010 United States census, there the racial makeup of the town was 67.1% White, 26.4% African American, 0.6% Asian, 0.6% Native American, and 5.0% from other races. There were 237 reported households and 167 families living within the town.

According to the same 2010 study, of the 237 households, 32.1% had children under the age of 18, while 46.4% of households were married couples living together. The average size of each household was 2.62, with the average family size being 3.13.

Population makeup of the town was varied. There was a reported 26.7% under the age of 18, 7.9% aged 18 to 24, 24.6% aged 25 to 44, 27.5% aged 45 to 64, and 13.0% who were 65 years of age or older. Median age of the town was reported as 38.6 years.
